Project Description

Stewart-Cooper-Newell’s design for this 21,000 SF Public Safety Classroom Building fully addressed the diverse and unique needs of three different owners: Cape Fear Community College, New Hanover County, and the City of Wilmington.

The Classroom Building meets the needs of Cape Fear Community College’s Basic Law Enforcement Training Program (BLET) and Firefighter courses, as well as the Truck Driving Program.

The City of Wilmington’s and New Hanover County’s professional training programs for their Police, Sheriff and Fire & EMS services, respectively, are also all held on this site and fully accommodated.

The Public Safety Classroom Building is designed to convert into a fully-functioning Training Fire Station in the future.
