Project Description

This station was designed and built on a fast-track schedule as requested by the City and Fire Department at the start of the project. Contracts were signed in 10/2004, design was completed in 01/2005 and construction was completed by 10/2005, just 12 months after the project was awarded to Stewart-Cooper-Newell Architects.

The three-bay facility includes a bunk room for full-time firefighters, dorm rooms for students, offices, a dayroom and a large training room. In addition, many spaces for future training opportunities were designed into the station’s footprint. In 2014, SCNA prepared the design for renovating 5,500 SF of interior living space, to house the Fire Department’s Administrative Offices.

The station also hosts an instructional program in Fire Science for high school students, Fayetteville Technical Community College students and Fayetteville State University undergraduate students. Station No. 14 serves the Fayetteville State University Campus as well as adjacent residential communities and commercial properties.
