Project Description
Stewart-Cooper-Newell Architects provided architectural services to design Crowders Mountain Volunteer Fire Department’s new Sub-Station. This building provides an efficient, durable, and functional substation for a minimal budget to equip Crowders Mountain Volunteer Fire Department better coverage within their response area.
The new station is a pre-engineered structure with three single loaded back in apparatus bays including adjacent decontamination space. It includes dedicated office space for reports and business, an open kitchen and dayroom, which serves as a meeting area, along with staff lavatories.
This substation will have rotating personnel in and out of the facility on an irregular basis and is designed to be low maintenance with durable finishes. The site provides space for future apparatus bay and living space expansion.
