Project Description
The City of Simpsonville has seen significant population growth over the recent years. This has driven the city’s need to build a new Fire Substation No. 5. Stewart-Cooper-Newell, having maintained a relationship with the fire department since the design of Fire Station No. 4, was selected again to work side-by-side with the City of Simpsonville and the Fire Department.
Station No. 5 is located in a predominately residential neighborhood, and the size, forms, and materials we’re selected to compliment the community, while providing the best functioning facility for the next 50+ years.
The facility will accommodate four personnel, twenty-four hours a day and has two drive-through apparatus bays, support areas, and ample firefighter living spaces such as dayroom, kitchen, and individual bunk areas. The site and station has been designed to accommodate future growth and additions when the fire service needs to increase.
