Project Description

As a result of a multi-year Needs Assessment Study, this Fire Department Headquarters was moved out of an old, poorly functional, downtown facility that was shared with the City Hall.

The new headquarters includes individual sleep rooms and toilet / shower rooms for gender accommodation, along with a large training / community room that allows for department, town and neighborhood functions. There are also a variety of training props incorporated throughout the facility. The building’s exterior and interior color scheme was deliberately selected to compliment the High School football stadium across the street.

The City obtained significant financing for this project through a USDA-Rural Development grant, thereby assuring that there was adequate funding to meet all of the growing department’s needs.
