Project Description

Sumter, SC is a fast growing city established in 1845. This community owes much of its prosperity to manufacturing and a strong military presence through the Shaw Air Force Base. One of the most remarkable places of this region is the Sumter Fire Headquarters.

To accommodate the City’s fast growth, SCN Architects completed a full assessment of both the Police and Fire Departments. From our pre-planning efforts, SCN Architects recommended a station between 18,000 and 22,000 square feet. The exact size was later determined during Schematic Design. This facility was built on the site bounded by Lafayette Drive, East Calhoun Street, and Grier Street.
